Shutting Down My Inner Saboteur: An Inspired Reflection by Amanda Sidell, LCSW

Inspired Reflection by Amanda Sidell, LCSW
“I’m too busy. I’m not a good writer. Why would anyone want to hear from me? What do I even have to say? Who really cares?”
These are the voices of my inner saboteur—every time I think about starting a blog. And yet, the truth is: I do have something to say. A lot, actually. My story is plentiful and messy and beautiful. It’s unique—just like yours.
What I’ve learned is that when I’m brave enough to speak my story, warts and all, something sacred happens: others start to share theirs too. Stories of fear and failure. Stories of hope and healing. And in those exchanges, real connection is born.
My story has some very dark moments. But it also has light. And in a world that often tells us to only show the light, we can end up feeling left behind in the dark. So today, I’m choosing to write—to share my story, my knowledge, my reflections—with the hope that it might invite you to pause, reflect on your own story, and feel a little more clear, a little more confident, a little more connected... and a little more you.
My posts probably won’t be perfectly consistent (that’s just who I am, and I’ve learned to accept that). Some entries will be deeply personal. Some will be practical. Others might be totally off-the-cuff. But all of them will be real. Honest. Rooted in a desire to create space—for reflection, growth, and community.
So, without further ado, I’m kicking off Inspired Reflections—a shared blog from the Inspired Coaches of the Inspired Consulting Group. A space for real talk and grounded wisdom. Where we blend lived experience with professional insight to support your growth in “humaning”... and all that comes with it.
